Details of my next speaking event: Social Media – Tools for innovation and efficiency

With the demand for cost reductions, CLG calling for innovation in the public sector, ‘Big Society’, calls for more open government data and increasing restrictions on travel, the time is right to re-examine what social media offers local government.

As pointed out by the ever so kind Ingrid Koehler in her events blog post, I’ll be presenting the keynote speech at the North West E-Government Groups (NWEGG) “Cross-cutting event”: Social Media – Tools for innovation and efficiency on 5th of October in Warrington. I am extremely excited and honoured to be presenting with Ingrid at this event and hope to see many familiar and new faces.

With the demand for cost reductions, CLG calling for innovation in the public sector, ‘Big Society’, calls for more open government data and increasing restrictions on travel, the time is right to re-examine what social media offers local government.

This event brings together a number of experts from pathfinders and key government agencies who will share their experiences ofthe technical options, case studies and innovative ideas designed to challenge the ways local authorities deliver their services and provide the infomation necessary to take the transformation agenda forward.
